It was a very tight fit and it required an aftermarket radiator to keep it cool. I have seen several with Chevy and Buick V6 engines. A much better fit. There used to be several kits to to swap these but with the popularity of the S-10 these kits are becoming harder to find. Q. i have a 1980 yamaha xs650g special 2, and i want to run it kick start only. i don't want the starter motor and want to keep it kick start only. Also does anyone know how to run my style of motorcycle with the minimum use of a wiring harness? i once saw on tv, a guy running his cafe racers with six wires only. Asked by Enrique W - Wed Nov 11 00:08:58 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well in all probability the one on tv was a points ignition system with very little in the way of electronics on board. One reason why they could do with so few wires. Yours should have an early version of a cdi box, as well as some other electronics on it. sorry but unless you retro the ignition to an earlier style and change the engine over as well-the pointed ignitions had a slightly different crank, as well as outter engine covers to cover the points, condensors etc. it is not possible to do it with only 6 wires.
