What illnesses/disabilities are allowed unlimited absences by an employer?
Q. I'm serious. My employer allows some individuals (they are not terminally ill) unlimited absences, while other employees have been fired. Additionally, the employees allowed unlimited time off are Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity individuals. Can someone clarify? Thank you. S and D E: I respect what you are saying and I'm not the type of person to gossip at the water cooler; however, there are a group of individuals who suddenly go home "sick" when we are the most busiest and need everyone at their desks. They are half my age, young, able-bodied. Other employees discuss this and I just observe.

A. Its favoritism. A little like Candidate Romney, where theres money theres power, he tries his hardest to make others look bad, as your boss reminds me of him for some reason- humm. So sad! Write a letter to the better business bureau?, or the District manager? Good luck!

Who is allowed to serve food to patients with Alzheimers in a nursing home?
Q. The home says only registered nurses are allowed to do so, and they are always so shorthanded that it takes forever from the time the food is brought to the area to the time the patients actually get to eat.

A. RN's, LPN's, STNA's and family members if allowed by the POA (power of attorney). It could be that one particular patient has more problems swallowing and the nursing home may make it a policy for RNs to feed someone who they are afraid might aspirate (breathe in the food).Especially if the family seems more likely to sue than other families.

Are you allowed to throw away old paint cans?
Q. I have numerous old paint cans some of them with little or no dried up paint in them. I seem to remember that you aren't allowed to throw them away with regular trash because it is a environmental hazard or something along those lines. Any know what you are supposed to do with them?

A. It is easier than you would have expected! Take the lids off the cans, and let them dry out. Once they become a solid you are allowed to put them into the regular garbage. You might want to put them in an area where you won't have to smell them while they dry out. Be sure to read the labels too. Some kinds of paint can be flammable, so use care when setting them out to dry. If that is just not an option (living in a condo?), then look up the waste disposal company in your area and give them a call. Every community also has a place to drop off toxic or otherwise hazardous waste. They will take the paint cans to a special area and process them to be less dangerous to the landfill area. If the types and colors of the leftover… [cont.]

Are you allowed to bring a laptop on a plane?
Q. I am planning on traveling soon and was wondering if I was allowed to use my laptop during the flight.
Asked by popster0909 - Thu Jun 18 12:18:47 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yah you can bring one. But be aware they don't lets you use it until 10 minutes after take-off once the plane clears 10,000 feet and they make you turn it off 10 minutes before landing just before the plane is about to descend under 10,000 feet. They just don't want you to have any electronic devices on at these times because it could interfere with the pilots instruments when they are most relied on.

Are you allowed to change a Goalkeeper during a penalty kick ?
Q. I need to know two things. Are you allowed to change the keeper saving the penalty shot during : 1) normal time ? 2) shoot-outs ? I meant that once the penalty has been given during normal time, and before it's taken, can you change keepers? And I mean changing keepers with one of the outfield players (not a substitute) only for the penalty kick.

A. I've watched football all my life and I've never seen any one change there goal keeper unless he was injured. But if they did it would be when the game has stopped for some reason. oh yeah and if they did take him out it could have negative affects on his confidence and probably ruin him as a player.

How are states allowed to strike down federal law?
Q. I read somewhere that states are allowed to "disobey" federal law. Where do they have this power?
Asked by unknown - Thu Mar 25 08:12:27 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Back in the day, states had more power and rights under the 10th amendment to the Constitution. Today, the US Constitution is largely reviled and ignored, as the biggest, most powerful central government emerged. Don't worry. Most state powers have been usurped by the Federal government.

Is a libero allowed to hit from the back row?
Q. Are they restricted to purely passing and setting, or are they allowed to drive from the back row? Are they allowed to jump if they do so? Or are they allowed to do anything a regular back row player is allowed to do, which is basically anything goes but they have to take off behind the attack line? I've had two coaches and various referees tell me different things about this.
Asked by lunatikky - Sat Sep 1 13:44:23 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments
A. volleyballer has the only correct answer The Libero can hit from the back row ONLY if the part of the ball is not above the height of the net. If the entire ball is above the height of the net, it is an illegal attack. The Libero can actually hit the same way in the front row. If any part of the ball has not cleared the net, it may be sent over the net by the Libero. The Libero is a defensive specialist, only.

A. If you are being represented then you can feed questions to your lawyer during a trial for them to ask (if they feel that they are appropriate). If you are dumb and choose to represent yourself in Court, then you can ask questions of witnesses yourself. I don't recommend representing yourself at Court.
