How much does it hurt to get an industrial ear piercing?
Q. I have my cartilage pierced on my left ear and that did not hurt at all but according to these youtube videos it hurts like hell lol and I was just wondering how bad it actually did hurt.
Asked by Amanda F - Sun Jul 6 22:24:31 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Everybody is different. Most people feel something, but its not a devistating pain. If you were fine with your cartilage, it shouldn't be intolerable, though it does hurt a little more.

How badly does it hurt to get a tattoo on your forearm?
Q. I'm planning on getting a memorial tattoo on my forearm and its going to be my first tattoo. I was wondering how bad its going to hurt. Obviously I know its going to hurt, but I want to know if its tolerable and if there's anything I can do to lessen the pain.

A. A forearm tattoo is definately not among the real painful spots to get a tattoo, like the neck or ankles for example. You should do fine, just make sure you are well rested and have a meal before getting tattooed. Dont worry about the pain too much, its very manageable. You'll see. Good Luck

How much does it hurt to get a small tattoo on the back of your wrist?
Q. I don't know what I want yet but I know I want something small on my left (and maybe on my right) wrist. My sister got one done not to long ago and she said it didn't hurt that bad but I dont know because she gets tattoos all the time. So yeah just wondering how much it hurts...If you have any good ideas of any tattoos please put pictures or what ever here too! Thanks a lot!

A. The wrist does hurt but it's not that bad. Since it is going to be small then it shouldn't hurt that bad. It's more annoying than pain.

How long should breasts hurt before your period?
Q. My breasts have been hurting for 6 days now, today is my normal day to start my period. I haven't started and my breasts have been killing me, especially my nipples. I am wondering if I could be pregnant and if I don't start by tomorrow, I am going to get a test. Usually my breasts hurt for 5 days, no more and no less. Maybe my body is just changing, but pregnancy is definitely a possibility, just looking to see what other women in their 20s are experiencing in time of breast soreness during pms. Thanks!
Asked by KD - Sat Jan 30 13:20:27 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It varies for me all the time. Sometimes my breasts hurt for 2 weeks prior to my period. Other times they never hurt at all. They have been hurting me now for the last 3 days and my period is expected within 3 days so it changes all the time. I would say since today isn't over yet, you shouldn't consider yourself late just yet. Sometimes even just thinking you are pregnant can make your body miss your period... it has happened to me before and i wasn't pregnant. So just give it time, relax, and wait and see what happens. Try not to stress over it.

How much does getting a tatto hurt?
Q. I'm not planning on getting one soon I'm only 16 but maybe when I'm older I'll get one. Does it hurt more than getting your eyebrows waxed cause if it doesn't I can handle it cause I wax my eyebrows. If it does hurt more then how many times more does it hurt? What does it feel like? If it's like a needle going into your skin I can handle it too cause getting vaccines at the doctor doesn't hurt me.

A. It depends on where you get it. I've heard that the flabbier the spot is, the more it hurts. But also the more bone, the more it hurts. I have mine on my shoulder blade which is one of the least painful places you can get it. Mine is just small but there were parts that burned a little. However, it wasn't so unbearable that I wanted him to stop. In fact some places it actually felt nice...in a weird pain for pleasure sort of way. Be careful if you do get one though. Make sure it has meaning to you...cause the damn things sure can be addictive! Believe me, I'm a big wuss and if I can go through it, anyone can. How much does it hurt to get a tattoo on your hip bone?
Q. I am going to get a tatoo. It is going to be a 1 or 2 inch, probably 1, capital R in cursive, and black on my right hipbone. How long do you think it would take and how much does it hurt? Because I see people on tv and I have never seen anyone screem, so it cant hurt that bad can it? Like, if you had to compare it to something, what would it be compared to? Feel like?

A. It's the only tattoo that almost made me cry, and I have my entire side tattooed, a tattoo on my wrist, a tattoo on my chest, and a tattoo on my spine. It sucks right on the bone.

How badly would it hurt to go from 8gs to 4gs?
Q. It hasn't hurt that much gauging my ears before, but I've never skipped a size, and it seems to hurt more, the bigger the gauges get. Also I'm planning on using gauges that are flared.
Asked by vannavodka - Thu Jul 17 18:55:45 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. For one, it's not called "gauging" the ear, it's called "stretching." Gauges are the size of the hole and jewelry. Stretching is the action. I wouldn't recommend skipping gauges. This will cause blow outs and all sorts of nastiness. Wait the extra few weeks and do it the right way, or suffer irreversible damage to your lobes. Good luck. :)

How much does it hurt to get your cartilage peirced?
Q. I want to get mine pierced, but I'm just scared of how much it will hurt. I have 3 piercings in my ear already, so as the piercings go higher up the ear, I know it hurts more because each one hurt more than the last since the skin got thicker. Also, does it hurt more or less than a nose piercing? I felt like my nose piercing killed worse than the other 3, but it stopped hurting after a week.
Asked by Trix Is My Kryptonite - Fri Jul 18 11:37:34 2008 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Here is the scoop. I have had a lot of piercings, nine of them were in my ears. The two toughest places to heal were my nose and my upper ear. The cartilage in your ear takes a long time to heal. I have had four piercings in the cartilage on my ear and each piercing took a full six months to heal. It hurt every day, I could not sleep on that ear, I had to clean it every single day. It was a pain but worth it once they healed. The initial peiricng will probably be a little less painful than the nose. Remember everyone is different. I have read that it could take a full year for a cartilage piercing to heal. If the initial pain is all you are worried about then you should have no problems. It is the after care that will be painful. [cont.]

What would hurt more on a visit to the doctor?
Q. I am going to the doctors office next week and I am scared. I think that I am going to get 2-3 vaccinations. -Would the vaccinations cuase a lot of pain? - Does a vaccination hurt more than getting blood taken?

A. The actual injection won't hurt any more than having blood taken. However, some vaccinations will make your muscles a little sore afterwards, like after a hard workout or if someone had punched you in the arm. That'll go away after a day or so though.

Would it hurt a siberian husky if you wet him during the hot days of the year?

A. Just give him water he'll drink what he needs. In general this breed does not take heat too well. He should not be outside when it is 105. Over 90-95 depending on the humidity he should be inside. Check out the ASPCA and Humane Society for info on this. Also depending on where you live you may be violating humane animal laws keeping him out him. Check local laws. Where I live that would be a rather substantial fine and they would check back to see if he was taken in and kept inside in the heat. I know you care for him so please don't let him stay out in that heat. God Bless

A. The pain that you are talking about is called Lactic Acid. Common in all athletes especially soccer players. Make sure you are warming up properly first of all as you don't want the pain to be an injury at the end of the day. This means you should be spending a good 15 minutes doing minimal exercises to warm the body (preferably a light jog) followed by intervals of stretching. You can up the tempo of the exercises each time you have stretched. Finally, to make the occurrence of aching muscles/joints after wards you need to cool down properly. This means getting on the jog and doing simple dynamic stretches such as lunges, open/close the gate and kick outs. These should all be on the move and carried out for only around 10 minutes. How much does a tongue piercing hurt compared to an eyebrow piercing?
Q. I got my eyebrow pierced last night, and the worst part was the clamp. It hurt about the same as someone biting your eyebrow. I want to get my tongue pierced next week, since I've been planning on it for a while. On a scale of one to ten, the eyebrow was about a four. Q. I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled and was curious about the pain. I'm not getting put under or anything like that, its just not an option for me,I know it'll hurt after but does it hurt during the actual teeth pulling? One is impacted. A. You will not feel any pain because you will be numb. However, you will feel the pressure of them trying to get your teeth out and seeing all the tools they use. I think that is the most scariest thing is to be up while they are doing it. It really scared me to death. Well, I guess not to death because I'm still here but you know what I mean. Rethink your decision on not being put to sleep. Good luck

How long do braces hurt? And how often do you need to brush your teeth with braces?
Q. For the first 2 hours and 30 minutes with braces I felt no pain, that is until after I brushed my teeth. How long will this hurt? Do you need to brush your teeth every time after you eat with braces?

A. You should brush them after every meal, not every time you eat. At school, I don't bring a tooth brush to lunch, but my orthodontist said that you should swish a drink in your mouth after you eat to at least get some of the food out of your braces.

Q. I have MDI (Mulit-dimensional Instability) in both shoulders, particularly my left one. Everytime I roll my shoulder back, it almost dislocates with the ball of my arm on the edge of the "cup". I want to get out of work for awhile, so if my shoulder already almost dislocates, how bad would it hurt to go the whole way? Would it be worth it?

How bad does it hurt when you get your belly button pierced?
Q. How bad does it hurt,do they have numbing cream or something? How long does it take to heal?Does it leave a bad scar?Do you think I will regret it if I have it done? I have 2 piercings in each of my ears,no cartilage.I hope it feels like that because those did not hurt at all.

A. I didn't think it hurt very much. You have to be really patient with the healing process and make sure you clean it very well. The more careful you are with it, the quicker it will heal. It can get infected easily and it will be very sensitive for a while. I haven't had mine for a couple of years and there is a very light "scar" above my belly button. You can barely tell it's there. I kind of miss having mine. I've had two kids since then and plan to have more some day so it's not exactly reasonable at this time. I don't really regret having it done. I wish it had healed nicer and wasn't such a pain to take care of.

How bad would it hurt if I intentionally dislocate my shoulder?

A. It would hurt as bad as it would for anyone else. The pain comes from nerves outside the cup and from the dislocation and stretching of various muscles and tendons. You'd probably get out of work, but it would be because you're actually injured, you wouldnt be just poppin it back in and goin on vacation lol
